5th Class took part in a three legged race, a race with a ball between their legs, a sprinting race and a penalty shoot out as part of Sports day. A great day was had by all!

5th Class visited the Kippure Outdoor & Adventure centre this week along with 6th class for their school tour. They took part in activities such as abseiling, rock climbing, high ropes, low ropes, leap of faith and orienteering. Some faced their fear of heights while others had great fun shouting words of encouragement towards the heights above. The instructors were very complementary of how fearless they were. Well done 5th Class!

We made the most of the beautiful weather and had one of our Reading Buddies sessions outside this week. 5th Class are paired up with Senior Infants and listen to the infants read from various library books. It is one of our favourite things to do!

5th Class are really enjoying having student-teacher Mr.Bolton teach them. This week we took part in lots of different kinds of co-operation games in P.E. We had great fun cheering each other on and co-operated very well in pairs/groups and as a class.

This week we had Aisling McGovern a previous past pupil of Rathcoffey, help us with Gymnastics. Aisling showed us lots of different warm ups and stretches for Gymnastics as well as plenty of skills and fun routines. We had great fun!
